Construction activity in Ontario in 2022 was just slightly below the peak levels reached in 2021, and the Greater Toronto Area continues to lead within the province.
In 2022, according to the Starts and Completions Survey data provided by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, over 45,000 new units (that includes apartments as well as single and detached houses) were started within the City of Toronto.
In our analysis we look at which neighbourhoods in Toronto attracted the highest number of new starts.
